Having domiciled in over thirty locations, including transportation to Australia, she uses her vast experiences of venues, some opulent, some meagre and some damn right disgusting, in her writing. Experiences in the NHS, interests in genetics and forensics, and with her husband, a retired CID officer, helps to authenticate what she writes. Added to this is her network of crime writers and personnel from the police services, which means that she can check past and present facts at the click of a button.
She began her first book a few years ago while undergoing treatment for breast cancer. This helped her to disassociate from the effects of chemotherapy and radiotherapy as she moved into another world. With two books written, she gives talks on writing crime fiction to groups including, retired NHS workers, the WI and local interest groups. This gives her an opportunity to engage with readers and answer their questions.
